Who we are

We believe that with the growth in data usage and storage and the broader digital transformation of businesses and the public sector in Uganda, Raxio Data Centre will be a centre-piece of infrastructure supporting the growth and digitalisation of the Ugandan economy and the goals set in the MoICT Data Strategy.

When it opens in November 2019, the Data Centre will be the first of its kind in Uganda, operating as a carrier-neutral facility, and meeting the international Tier III standard. Upon final phase completion, the Data Centre will able to house around 400 racks and be able to provide 1.5MW of IT power to ensure the equipment housed within it operates optimally, 24/7, in a fully safe, secure and redundant environment. Raxio Data Centre is being built in the Namanve Industrial and Business Park, ideally located for addressing the both the primary and disaster recovery needs of its customers. Being along one of Uganda’s principal fibre routes also ensures optimal connectivity.

Raxio has selected Future-tech, from the UK, and Symbion of Uganda, as best-in-class partners for the design and construction of its facility and has assembled a seasoned and experienced management team to operate and run it on commissioning.

First Brick Holdings (“FBH”) is a Roha Group company established in 2018 to build the foundation of the digital economy across Eastern and Southern Africa. FBH will spur digital transformation across the region by funding and developing multiple Tier III data centres. These data centres will open up new opportunities for financial services, governments, cloud providers, large enterprises and SMEs by addressing their mission critical needs for data storage, business continuity and disaster recovery.

By creating a network of Tier III standard data centres across the region, FBH will also enable international and regional players to establish their presence “in-country”, closer to their user bases, improving latency and overall quality of service.
